Your First Visit to Our Lakewood Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

On your first day you come into the office, you will meet Tina or Kim, who will greet you and assist you with your paperwork. The paperwork usually takes people about 15-20 minutes to complete, depending on your situation and health history. You may click here to download our paperwork, or you can call Tina at (303) 986-5400 and request an emailed or faxed copy.

After the paperwork has been completed, you will begin your consultation with Dr. Anderson. During the consultation, Dr. Anderson may ask some follow-up questions to the answers on the intake form and allow you to add anything else to your health history that you would like to talk about. Once we have completed your health history, Dr. Anderson will customize an chiropractic/orthopedic/neurologic evaluation based on your history.  X-rays are only taken if neurologically or orthopedically necessary.

Our clients see us for different reasons, from symptom relief to correction of a condition to spinal health and wellness and neurological integrity. Your needs and input will allow you to decide how much chiropractic care you will receive.

Sometimes, people have an expectation that their pain will be gone after the first visit, but it typically does not quite work that way. Symptoms in the body are like dummy lights on a car, indicating when something has gone wrong. Usually, it was a process rather than an event that created the problem, so it usually is a process rather than an event to get your health goals achieved. We create treatment plans geared towards achieving your health goals as quickly as possible, and we also provide family wellness plans that are customized for your family.

Dr. Anderson Asks some important questions of interest to Lakewood residents - Chiropractor Lakewood Dr. Anderson Asks...

What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
Why are some people allergic to pollen and others aren't?
It's not the pollen. Chiropractors know that if it were, everyone would be allergic to pollen, nuts and pet dander. But that's not the case. It's the person, not the pollen! If you live in Lakewood and your stress levels are high, then each year the grass, the trees or the weeds put your nervous system over the top. Many report that chiropractic care helps reduce the frequency and severity of their allergic response.
